1995 British Hill Climb Champion, European Touring Car Champion 2004 and works
BMW driver, Andy Priaulx is returning to Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire
to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the hill climb over the weekend 19th,
20th and 21st August. Having conquered the hill climb world in 1995 with a
perfect score, Priaulx went on to circuit racing, immediately establishing
himself as the UK's top International Touring Car Driver, dominating the Renault
Spyder title, then winning BTCC races before reaching his current tally
of 8 wins in the European (now World) Touring Car Series.
Andy also won the historic Nürburgring 24 hour race held on the daunting
Nordschleife, driving the awesome BMW M3 GTR 4 litre V8 alongside Pedro Lamy,
Boris Said and Duncan Huisman. In between racing touring cars, Andy has also
been drafted in to the BMW WilliamsF1 squad as a test driver with long days
of testing at Valencia and Vallelunga
Guernseyman Priaulx will drive a contemporary 2004 ETCC specification BMW
320i at Shelsley Walsh in August, similar to the car that he drove throughout
his Championship winning year.
