ANDY PRIAULX - 1995 HILL CLIMB CHAMPION / 2005 WORLD TOURING CAR CHAMPION
Andy
Priaulx won the 1995 British Hill Climb Championship at Shelsley Walsh in
1995, but this year wrapped up the World Touring Car Championship at Macau
with BMW.
Keeping his cool out in the far East, he sped to a brilliant pole position
for the races, some 0.6 seconds ahead of the rest; vital for the narrow street
circuit.
Two second places from the two races left him the Champion of the World after
being the Champion of Europe last year. His car ran in Watson's green livery,
a colour scheme regularly used by the works BMWs at Macau.
Andy came to Shelsley Walsh again in August 2005 for the 100th Celebrations
of the hill; returning to his roots.
