Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb 2008

The 2007 Season

RESURFACING OF SHELSLEY WALSH FOR 2007

Shelsley Walsh will be resurfaced in advance of the forthcomning 2007 speed hill climb season in Worcestershire's Teme Valley. The 102 year old hill will have the new asphalt laid in the first week of April after the entire hill has been planed and smoothed for the perfect racing surface.

Through the particularly fast 'kink' on the S Approach section, there will be particular attention paid by the resurfacing team to eliminate the bumps that have seen the fastest single seaters bottoming out on.

The famous hill was last resurfaced in 2001 through the Esses section, whilst the entire hill was last fully surfaced in one 'go' in May 1992, paving the way for a flurry of records at the following meeting that year.

The current record of 23.75 seconds was however set in June 2006 by Martin Groves, but this could be under threat this coming June.
