Farmyard progress

Work has been proceeding very quickly on the redevelopment of the Shelsley Walsh Farmyard in the early months of 2009 and huge advances have been made. These pictures courtesy of MAC Committee Member and well-known Motor Sports commentator Toby Moody show the progress in detail.

The first phase, a mess room for our loyal band of marshals will be in use at the first Shelsley Walsh event on 3rd & 4th May. We plan to be using the toilet facilities early in the season with the timing of the opening of the kitchen and restaurant remaining a matter of careful management of finances. You can see the beautifully made arch-topped windows and doors in the restaurant and in another picture can be seen the rapidly growing picnic lawn.

The walkways are completed right up to the mill and this can be seen in the other pictures with a fine view across the farmyard from the top corner of the mill building. It is hoped that some of the hard working team of watermill 'Dibnahs' will be able to show the mill running at various events throughout this season. The whole development is a superb facility and the entire team deserve congratulations for everything that has been achieved.

There is a view of the interior of the archive store which is close to completion and which will house the club's comprehensive archive of information leading back to the very dawn of motoring which is currently held by our Archivist, Mark Joseland.
