Shelsley Walsh New Year's Day 2010

Members and friends gatherAround 300 MAC Members and friends gathered at the World Famous Shelsley Walsh on New Year's Day for the now traditional hill walk. Hot drinks, mulled wine and hot mince pies were served and a collection was taken to support the Archive Restoration Fund.

Conditions were very frosty with sub-zero temperatures overnight but bright sunshine cheered the day for all.

The organised gathering dates from 2005 when the 99-year lease of the hill climb was secured, but New Years Day had long been a time for lovers of Shelsley Walsh to celebrate the New Year with a brisk walk of the historic hill to shake off the mid-winter cobwebs.

Long may the tradition continue, dependent on the weather of course!
