Shelsley Walsh 3rd July 2004
Shelsley's third event weekend of 2004 continued the record breaking trend
seen so far this year. Along with several other class records over the two
days, the longest standing record of them all, the Shelsley Special (supercharged)
record fell to Nic Mann in his awesome turbine/turbo/supercharged hybrid Mannic.
On Saturday Nic moved it from Andy Smiths 29.27 of August 1980 to a stunning
27.57. On Sunday, Mac ulbert got in on the act by taking the pre-war car record
under 34 seconds for the first time with a scintillating 33.71 in the all-time
classic Shelsley car, ERA R4D. Whilst Wimbledon was wet the weather remained
kind to the best of British at Shelsley all weekend in one of the greatest
motor events anywhere in the world.
Nic
Mann was awesome and the Shelsley Supercharged Special record is rightly his
as he finally filled in his Shelsley Special form on Saturday. Nearly 2 seconds
off the old record. WOW!
Tell all your friends that they miss the August Shelsley at their peril. See the fastest accelerating cars on the oldest track in countryside that rivals Tuscany. Will Adam Fleetwood get into 23 second territory? Will Graeme Wight give his self build V10 car its Shelsley debut? You know it makes sense to be nowhere else!
